Church of Cyprus Rebukes Blasphemers!
Church of Cyprus says it is impossible for sacramental wine and bread to transmit diseases! Thinking consecrated bread or wine can give you an infectious disease is blasphemy according to the church of Cyprus. The precedence is that they believe in the Catholic doctrine of transubstantiation which is to say that they have miraculously converted the bread and wine into Jesus’s flesh and blood.
Is the Catholic doctrine of transubstantiaton blasphemy?
Such a view is seen as blasphemy by protestants. If you are partaking of the communion it is assumed that you are already a believer. The question then becomes one of personal hygiene (See Coronavirus guidelines) as it relates to the minister giving the communion. On the other hand, while the protestants holds the bread and wine to be symbols of the memorial of Jesus; catholics go a step further by demanding that the bread and wine be accepted the actual body and blood of Jesus. To think otherwise is blasphemy.
Regarding the offering of the Holy Communion, the position of the Catholic Church is known to be extreme and blasphemous to protestants. According to the Catholic church The Holy Communion does not symbolize but it is the Body and Blood of Christ. It would be blasphemous to think that Christ’s Body and Blood could transmit any disease or virus.” LOL
