Wine Production

Wine production happens when the processes for converting grape juice to wine occurs successfully. The what, where, why and hows of growing and harvesting grapes for wine, will determine the quality wine. Decisions will determine the type and quality of  wine that is produced. Before we begin, let us start by saying what wine is. Thus, wine is the result of grape juice gone bad.

However…growing good grapes and turning them into premium wine involves a complex combination of steps, many decisions… and Jesus’s richest blessings! Lol. But…

Growing grapes for wine is Wine Production.

Good grapes are the foundation upon which wine production depends. And only one species of grape makes the majority of wines in the world, despite the hundreds of varietals (varieties of grapes) that exists. , The species of so-called Noble Grapes are:

  • Caberbet Sauvignon,
  • Syrah,
  • Pinot Noir,
  • Chardonnay,
  • Sauvignon Blanc, and
  • Riesling.

These are called “noble” because they’re capable of being made in many styles, and they produce elegant, long-lived wines. On the other hand…

Wine is made from other grapes also, including but not limited to, Zinfandel, Merlot, Pinot Grigio and many others…

More importantly, grapes grow best around the 45 degree latitude in the northern and southern hemisphere…At this latitude, the Sun is visible for 15 hours 37 minutes during the summer solstice, and 8 hours 46 minutes during the winter solstice. The grapes are ripened properly under the warm and dry condition.

However, some varietals, like Chardonnay, are far more adaptable, and will grow in a wide variety of conditions, others, such as Pinot Noir, are very fussy about where they’re grown. Thus…

DECISIONS, DECISIONS… it’s the decisions that kills you when producing Wine,

Grapegrowers and winemakers are faced with a perplexing influx of choices and decisions that they have to wrestle with it.

How long to age the wine before release…

In fact, these are just the tip of the decisions. Also, considerations about the type of oak to use, whether or not to blend several varietals together and so on… the choices are eternal. Fine Wine and Good Spirits Shipped To Your Doorstep Sign Up For Our Newsletter…
